Share your progress not your goals

Celebrate the Small Wins

Have you ever felt yourself get discouraged when trying to accomplish a big project? There is wisdom to putting your goal into small manageable chunks. That’s why you should focus on sharing your progress and celebrating the small wins. It will keep you encouraged, motivate others, and create a more positive experience for everyone who joins you on your journey.

Become process oriented
Encountering challenges happens and it becomes less manageable when you only focus on your bigger goals. When you become success and achievement oriented, you will never feel satisfied with small successes. Focusing on sharing your progress will help you see the beauty of the process and appreciate your growth. You’ll feel more satisfaction when you look at your journey and put less emphasis on the importance of your end result.

Inspire others around you
No matter who surrounded you, people will feel motivated by your desire to share your journey with them. Being vulnerable with the people who you trust the most and even those who need some inspiration can be powerful! Without meaning to, your journey might be what gives others around you that extra motivation to take the leap of faith and chase their own goals.

Make friends who can share in the experience
If you’re lucky, you might find some friends with similar objectives and who are also faciling similar challenges. This gives you a support system - a network to work with, people who you can speak with about your experiences. People you can turn to in times of need. Commiserating with others who are going through similar experiences is important and helps to normalize your situation instead of becoming discouraged.

Learn more about yourself
Sharing your progress might also grant you room for an epiphany or two. You'll be able to reflect on what you as an individual have a achieved! We can learn a lot about ourselves by reflecting on the manner in which we make our progress. Sharing your experiences can open your eyes to traits and strengths you never saw in yourself. This can also give you insight into ways to enhance yourself professionally and it will certainly make your relationships stronger sharing creates a bond of experience.

Sharing your progress and not your goals helps you not only to stay motivated, but gives inspiration to those around you. Focus on the journey and how you can grow, and within a short amount of time, you will see the community around you change and rally in support of what you seek to achieve!
