Mpumelelo Ndiweni: CEO & Founder, Colmin Group. Founder, EZulu Life

Please tell us your name, where your business is located and what is it that you do?

My Name is Mpumelelo Ndiweni. My main holding company is called the Colmin Group headquartered in Johannesburg with offices in Dubai, Gaborone, Bulawayo and Lusaka. Our investees are EZulu Life, a health ecosystem comprising nutraceuticals and medical technology. Arcadia Energy is a renewable energy company building solar power stations in Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Please tell us about how you got started.

I started off at age 9 selling my aunts supercools/coolaids at a bus terminal in Bulawayo Zimbabwe that’s when I discovered my problem solving and sales talent. My first actual venture would come in at age 17 with the establishment of The Zone which was a games and video center.

What makes your company unique?

Colmin is an Africa investing company that offers global business advisory services, while EZulu is a natural health ecosystem.

No business is without setbacks, can you tell us about a time when you faced a significant setback and how you recovered from it?

Have been bankrupted by the business twice and have recovered both times. The best way to recover is to keep moving, understand no one is coming to save you,you sleep, you die, keep moving.

How do you define success and to what do you attribute your success?

Reaching your ultimate potential and finding peace. I attribute this to pushing boundaries within your talents and skill set. Success is because the Lord is God.

What’s next for your business, what will it look like in 5 years?

Colmin is maturing into an investment banking company growing from its current advisory and investment services, while EZulu shall be establishing a second facility to tap into the East Africa market.

What do you think the future holds for Africa-focused entrepreneurs and advice do you have for entrepreneurs who are just starting out?

Shoot for the stars, fail fast and master the art of quickly bouncing back.

Owning a business while balancing a personal life can be challenging; how do you take care of yourself?

We thank the Lord for the Sabbath, it introduces a break in an otherwise hectic week and due to it,time is created to catch up with family.
