Tell us about how you got started.

It all started with my love for personal styling. I have always enjoyed dressing up for work, events, and outings with friends. Then a work colleague introduced me to Instagram where I started sharing my outfits with my followers. Friends started asking for styling advice and assistance with shopping. That gave me a confidence boost and the revelation that there was a gap in the market. I was happy serving in that space. So, I later enrolled for an Image Consulting course in 2018, registered my Company and the rest is history.

What makes your company unique?

Our Image Makeovers are not a one-day event but an ongoing process. Real transformation takes time. I build a wardrobe for you that will not need my constant guidance, I equip my clients with the knowledge, skills and tools they need to be able to wake up every morning and dress with confidence knowing that they look great. I teach clients how to be self-sufficient. I work with clients both virtually and in-person. For those who prefer face to face communication and the convenience of having me come to their home, I can bring the expert assistance to the table.

No business is without setbacks, can you tell us about a time when you faced a significant setback and how you recovered from it?

Before Covid 19, I was consulting with clients face to face only. I was very reluctant to work online. So, when covid hit, I was caught unaware and un-prepared, business was so dry. I took advantage of the free time to pivot my business. I enrolled for a short course that equipped me with the knowledge, skills and tools to perform virtual consultations. I also attended several masterclasses on the same subject. By so doing, I was able to introduce virtual sessions in the same year. And now, virtual consultations form a large part of my business. It has helped attract clients beyond the South African boarders and overseas.

Owning a business while balancing a personal life can be challenging; how do you take care of yourself?

I do take the time to do the things I enjoy, like working out 3-5 times a week, watch my favorite soapies, read books, listening to podcasts, and praying. That helps clear my mind and helps take care of myself physically, mentally, and spiritually.

What is your favorite quote or mantra?  What keeps you going?

“Your purpose in life is to be YOU.” The world needs what you have so never stop being you! My love for my family and the need to make them proud. I want to be a good role model for my kids.
