The aim of the project is to empower smallholder farmers in Serenje District with 2HP and 0.5HP Sunlight water pump for irrigation purpose so that they can become resilient to drought caused by climate change. The business partnership is to create capacity for the passionate enterprise working with smallholder farmers with cooperatives in Serenje District by starting with one which will identify other cooperatives in Serenje District in Central Province. The target groups are agricultural cooperatives and individual smallholder farmers and the deliverables are 2HP and 0.5HP Sunlight water pumps to cooperatives and individual smallholder farmers respectively to change their agricultural production cycle to increase food production and stop cutting trees for charcoal as source of income.
