Bwenzi Pads - Banana Fiber Sanitary Pads

Bwenzi Pads is an innovative project initiated by three students from the Malawi University of Science and Technology: Gomezgani Mtonga, Ellanive Jerenje, and Leonard Mawaya. The project aims to address period poverty among Malawian girls in rural areas by producing affordable and sustainable sanitary pads made from banana fiber. Currently in the ideation stage, Bwenzi Pads has successfully developed its first prototype and is poised to make a significant impact on menstrual hygiene and environmental sustainability.
