About Deegaan Sustainability Initiative

Deegaan Sustainability Initiative is a climate and environmental consulting enterprise founded by Hodo Omer Haibe, an Environmental Safeguard Specialist with nine years of experience in sustainability, impact assessment, and environmental awareness.

Our mission is to empower communities and organizations in the Horn of Africa to adopt sustainable, climate-resilient practices through consulting, awareness programs, and environmental education. Deegaan promotes clean energy, effective waste management, and sustainable livelihoods — helping local enterprises and governments reduce environmental risks while improving community resilience.

Since 2018, our founder has supported projects across Somaliland and East Africa in environmental impact assessments, safeguard monitoring, and climate adaptation. Through her Deegaan Podcast, she educates and mobilizes youth on environmental issues, gender inclusion, and sustainable development.
