Queening Afrika is a social venture that works with women in up-cycling synthetic hair waste, often burned or dumped, into premium, handcrafted bags, mats, jewelry, and home décor. We work with young single mothers and youths, providing them with green skills and dignified jobs. Through intergenerational collaboration, elderly women serve as mentors, passing down craftsmanship and life skills. Our work not only reduces environmental pollution but also tackles poverty by turning waste into opportunity. We’ve up-cycled over 1.2 tons of braid waste, supplied premium outlets like the Giraffe Centre, and raised awareness through national media, proving that fashion can drive sustainability and social change.
