Dried Fish Production and Capacity Building Project

Dried Fish Production and Capacity-Building Project , Fangak County

The Dried Fish Production and Capacity-Building Project empowers flood-affected communities in Fangak County, South Sudan by transforming fishing into a sustainable livelihood. Floods have destroyed farms and homes, and lack of equipment leads to fish spoilage, limiting income and food security.

Key Interventions:

  • Supply of nets, canoes, and drying racks.

  • Construction of drying and storage facilities.

  • Training youth and women in fish preservation, processing, marketing, and small-business skills.

  • Development of market linkages for value-added fish products.

Impact:

  • Increased household income and improved food security.

  • Empowered women and youth as community drivers.

  • Strengthened resilience against recurring floods.
