How to cut operational costs

Section 4 : Reducing energy consumption

80%

Simple measures like switching to LED lighting, opening or closing windows to regulate temperature rather than using ACs or fans and ensuring equipment is turned off when not in use can make a huge difference.

If you are running a manufacturing business, you could invest in energy-efficient machinery and optimise production schedules to reduce energy consumption during peak hours. This not only cuts down on energy costs but also contributes to a more sustainable business operation. Regularly assessing your energy use and making adjustments where necessary helps you achieve ongoing cost savings.

Achieving these savings requires buy-in from your team. Create incentives to motivate them, such as showing exactly how much you’ve saved by switching to LED lighting and displaying this information prominently, or rewarding individuals or departments for reducing their energy consumption. Making it a fun and integral part of your company culture will encourage everyone to adopt these practices, making energy conservation second nature. It’s important to involve the entire team in this effort, as individual actions alone will have limited impact.
