Very few of our accomplishments are ours alone. In most cases, we’re aided by our mentors, employees, and business partners. Work takes individual effort, but it’s a team sport. Cultivating a practice of daily gratitude can help remind us of that. It helps us be present to how interconnected we are and how much of a support network we have when we need it.
Make a habit of graciously thanking everyone that contributes to your daily successes. Let them know specifically what they did and why it was so important. This practice creates an environment where people feel valued and appreciated. They will begin to return the favor, thanking you for your contributions. Over time you create a positive feedback loop that raises all boats and helps keep your entire network or team motivated. And when your team is inspired, it’s markedly easier to nurse your motivation.
