For many of us, our business is our creation, our vision, our responsibility. This can lead to a leadership style where we’re involved in every decision, every challenge, every solution. This level of commitment is admirable, but it can also be a trap. A business that cannot function without its leader is not truly sustainable.
When employees are overly dependent on you, they hesitate to make decisions on their own. Every small issue requires approval, every major move is stalled by your availability. This not only slows down progress but also limits the team’s potential. Instead of encouraging growth and innovation, the business becomes an extension of your workload.
A strong leader recognises when their involvement is holding things back instead of moving them forward. Let’s be strong leaders by shifting from being the sole decision-makers to being builders of systems, delegators of responsibility and cultivators of leadership within the team.
