Personality significantly influences how we connect with others. Understanding and appreciating different personality traits can help us build stronger, more meaningful relationships both personally and professionally.

For example, a manager who recognises that an employee values recognition and praise, is more likely to motivate and retain that employee by providing regular positive feedback. Similarly, understanding that a colleague prefers clear and concise communication can prevent misunderstandings and encourage a more collaborative working relationship.

Being aware of personality traits develops greater empathy and support. It guides you on how to approach different situations and conversations. If you know that a friend or team member is particularly sensitive to criticism, you can approach conversations with care and understanding, strengthening your bond, mutual respect, and trust.
