So to uncover this, you must first identify your core strengths and your passion. Think about what brings you joy and what really gets you going. You’ll want to answer some key questions about yourself and so shaping your personal purpose may require that you ask some close friends or peers to help you find the answers:
What did you love doing when you were a child?
Describe a moment from your childhood when you did something you absolutely loved. Talk about how that moment made you feel.
What were some of your most challenging life experience? How have they shaped you?
When you have answers to these questions, review your stories and look for a unifying thread. Now, envision the impact you’ll have on the world as a result of living intentionally, then take a shot at describing your personal purpose.
The words in your purpose statement must be yours, they must be concise and they must call you to action. When you have created an early draft of your purpose statement, put it away for a couple of days, then come back to it and take a fresh look at what you came up with.
