Tell us about how you got started.

I started by doing Art, Design & Technology in high school and gaining experience. I then applied to become an architect at university and afterwards gained more experience in some of the biggest architecture firms in South Africa. Upon yielding 8 years of experience, I left to start my own practice.

What makes your company unique?

We provide turnkey solutions for architecture, and property development and assist our clients with construction procurement and logistics.

No business is without setbacks, can you tell us about a time when you faced a significant setback and how you recovered from it?

I think the difficulty and uncertainty of leaving formal employment to start a business and not knowing when you will get your next project. There is also a lot of uncertainty with the type of work we do and not knowing when clients will call next.

How do you define success and to what do you attribute your success?

I attribute my success to my mother who motivated me to take ART as a subject in high school. Success is not just about having money, it also manifests in health, being less worried, and being at peace.

What's next for your business, what will it look like in 5 years?

We have a Pan-African expansion plan, to Botswana and Lesotho.

What do you think the future holds for Africa-focused entrepreneurs and advice do you have for entrepreneurs who are just starting out?

To follow your passion. Do not start a business just for the sake of starting one. Solve a problem in society.

Owning a business while balancing a personal life can be challenging; how do you take care of yourself?

There are challenges in owning a business, like any new venture or arena. I take care of myself by having enough sleep, and exercise regularly, and going to the gym.

What is your favorite quote or mantra?  What keeps you going?

Life doesn't owe you success, love, happiness, or anything. You should be willing to go out there and get everything for yourself.

What is your favorite app or a business tool that you can't live without

My favourite App is Pinterest. I can use it to get inspiration when I have a mental block or when I need inspiration from various buildings.
