At BuyScrap Nigeria, we don’t just recycle electronics; we transform e-waste into jobs, education, and a cleaner environment. Founded by Ndaman Joshua Olayinka who worked in Nigeria’s scrapyards and witnessed firsthand the dangers of unsafe e-waste handling, our mission is to protect both people and the planet.

BuyScrap is a tech-driven platform pioneering e-waste recovery in Nigeria. Through our digital marketplace linking households and businesses to certified recyclers, we are creating formal and safer pathways for e-waste recycling and directly contributing to a healthier environment and community.

Every day, thousands of Nigerians, especially informal waste pickers, risk their health burning or dismantling old electronics for scrap. At the same time, schools lack affordable devices, and deforestation worsens pollution. We tackle all three problems with one solution:

1. Safe Recycling, Better Livelihoods: We train and employ youth in proper e-waste collection while formalizing informal waste pickers, giving them fair wages and safer work.
2. Bridging the Digital Divide: Refurbished laptops and tablets from recycled waste go to underserved schools, helping students access technology.
3. Waste for Trees Initiative: For every ton of e-waste collected, we plant trees, fighting deforestation and offsetting e-waste pollution.

Since launching, we’ve recycled over 20 tons of e-waste, trained 30 youth, planted 10 trees, and donated 5 devices.
