Opening November 2024! Discover the newest Gwango sanctuary in a suburb of Bulawayo, a short 30-minute drive from the famous balancing rocks of the Matobo Hills. 
GARDEN ROOMS (13 rooms with twin beds + 1 room with a queen bed; up to 2 guests per room) these are ground floor rooms
TERRACE ROOMS (4 rooms with twin beds + 5 rooms with a queen bed, up to 2 guests per room) these are upper level rooms

Gwango Heritage Resort: 28 guest rooms + campsites
DELUXE CHALETS
 (8 rooms with 2 double beds, up to 4 guests/room) with a private forest view veranda that overlooks an elephant waterhole for those lazy mornings.
BUSH CHALETS (20 rooms with 2 single beds, 2 guests/room). You can bring your own to enjoy the night skies and self-catering braai/bbq facilities are also available at campsite.

Gwango Kule Camp: 8 self-catering bungalows + campsites
An authentic wilderness experience for our adventurous guests. Enjoy the comfort of our self catering bungalows or pitch your tent under the wide skies.

Gwango offers a range of activities for an unforgettable experience, combining thrilling wildlife safaris in Hwange National Park and common activities in Bulawayo, with opportunities to explore and appreciate the local culture. Consider these exciting options to make the most of your adventure.

Activities in Hwange, Zimbabwe?

Sunrise/Sunset Game Drive (Approx. 3 hours)
Enjoy a guided 4x4 safari through the Gwango Estate with snacks and beverages. Experience bush breakfasts or sunset beverages and snacks.

Night Excursion (Approx. 1 hour)
Track elephants and discover nocturnal animals by moonlight with a guide who shares stories of African myths and culture.

Cultural Tour (Approx. 2 hours)
Visit a replica BaNambya homestead and learn about the history and traditions of the Nambya people.

Morning/Afternoon Game Drive in Hwange National Park
(Approx. 3 hours)
Explore Hwange National Park with a guide, home to diverse wildlife including large elephant herds.

Full Day Game Drive in Hwange National Park (Full day)
Experience a full day in Hwange National Park with a guide, including lunch and breathtaking views of the park.
Bird-Watching in Hwange

Hwange is a bird-watching paradise, with diverse habitats attracting a wide range of species. Observe Southern Ground-hornbills, Secretarybirds, and various raptors. The park’s varied environments offer excellent opportunities for spotting both common and rare birds.

CONFERENCES

Host your next conference, product launch, or private meeting at Gwango, where we provide versatile venues equipped with modern amenities. Our spaces include projectors, screens, and sound systems to ensure your event’s success.

Our Venues
The peaceful atmosphere of Tamarillo State in Bulawayo makes break sessions and meals a pleasure with friendly staff serving fine food and drinks.

We can cater up to 380 people theater style in our large Teak Room down to a 8 person meeting private in our Boscia Boardroom.If you happen to book a conference in Hwange, expect visits from elephant herds joining you at our water hole. All meals are catered for by Gobelo Marketplace.

Accommodation: Choose from luxury rooms, self-catering bungalows, or nearby lodges with assistance for bookings and transport.


Booking Terms:
Confirmations require guest numbers and dietary needs.
Deposits required for booking.
Final payment due 60 days before arrival.
Clients are responsible for any room or equipment damage.
No-show fee applies.

Cancellation Policy:
120-90 days before: 20% of total amount
90-60 days before: 50% of total amount
60 days or fewer: 100% of total amount

Dining in Hwange  provides an exceptional experience. Enjoy al fresco meals surrounded by nature in Hwange. Join us daily for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and unwind with drinks at our bar. 

Gobelo Market
Conveniently located at Gwango Heritage Resort. Our open-air thatched restaurant is built on Kalahari sands, in the heart of an ancient teak forest for a bespoke atmosphere. On cool evenings, enjoy an al fresco dinner seated at a table close to the elephant waterhole or enjoy an ice bucket of drinks and a light midday meal in a shady spot. With choices like pesto linguine, bushman's steak and farm grown pulled pork there's something for everyone. Some days we have traditional dinners and we dance under the open night skies.. We are more than a regular restaurant. Gobelo is an experience!
