It’s natural to want a business that reflects who you are, but what if your values limit your ability to make sound decisions? Maybe you dislike confrontation, so you avoid firing an underperforming employee, even though it’s hurting your business. Maybe you’re uncomfortable with aggressive marketing, so you hesitate to push your product, while competitors gain market share.

Your values shape your instincts, but instincts aren’t always right. Business requires tough choices. Ones that might challenge personal beliefs. The key is recognising when your values serve your business and when they create unnecessary obstacles.
