Power dynamics at networking events

Section 4 : Position yourself, don’t wait to be invited

100%

If you always wait to be acknowledged, you’ll stay on the sidelines. Don’t be pushy though in the name of positioning yourself. Put yourself in spaces where conversations are already happening. Offer value without needing an introduction first and show up consistently, even when no one knows your name yet.

The people who move through power dynamics effectively are not always the most influential. Most of them are just more self-aware. They know who they are, what they bring and who they want to meet. They also know not every door needs to open tonight. Just one.
