About

Mwanamwenge Institute is an African-born innovation hub dedicated to transforming the continent from a passive consumer of imported technologies into a global producer of cutting-edge solutions. Founded in Zambia, our mission is to equip underserved communities—especially young people and women—with the skills, tools, and opportunities to thrive in the digital economy. We achieve this through three interconnected pillars: affordable locally assembled computers, high-impact STEM education, and an AI & blockchain-based investment platform that fuels entrepreneurship.

Our vision is bold: to see Africa emerge as a leader in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, with its own homegrown technologies, competitive manufacturing industries, and thriving innovation ecosystems. By marrying technical expertise with social impact, Mwanamwenge Institute seeks to inspire a generation of problem-solvers who will address local and continental challenges while competing on the world stage.

In the short term (1–2 years), our goals include launching a fully operational laptop and desktop assembly plant in Lusaka capable of producing high-quality, affordable devices; scaling our computer literacy programs to train at least 10,000 women in employability and entrepreneurship skills; and piloting the Mwanamwenge Capital Exchange (MCX), a platform that connects vetted African startups to global investors through AI-powered vetting and blockchain-enabled smart contracts. We are also building partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations to integrate our training into formal and informal learning systems.

In the long term (3–10 years), we aim to establish regional innovation hubs across Africa that serve as centers for research, product development, and startup incubation. Through MCX, we plan to facilitate at least $500 million in startup funding, empowering thousands of entrepreneurs. Collectively, these initiatives are projected to create over 100,000 technology-related jobs and position Africa as a leader in emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and IoT.

Job creation is a core driver of our work. In the first three years alone, we will directly employ over 200 people in manufacturing, research and development, technical support, training, and administration. Indirectly, thousands more jobs will be created through our supply chains, partner organizations, and the startups we support.

We expect to impact over 1 million people within a decade by making technology accessible, affordable, and relevant. This includes students gaining digital literacy, entrepreneurs scaling their businesses, and communities using innovative solutions in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and education.

Currently, Mwanamwenge Institute generates approximately ZMW 1,300,000 (about USD 50,000) in annual revenue through training programs, consulting services, and early-stage computer sales. By Year 5, we project annual revenues of ZMW 52,000,000 (about USD 2 million), driven by large-scale computer production, MCX subscription and transaction fees, consulting, and strategic partnerships.

Mwanamwenge Institute is not just building computers—it is building the future of Africa
