Growing up, you must have been told “treat others the way you want to be treated.” These words of advice are a fundamental aspect of personal integrity. Walking the talk involves treating others well, which could include praising the contributions of others and exhibiting fairness to everyone regardless of an individual’s position in your organization.
It also means allowing yourself to show vulnerability – if you make a mistake, admit what you did wrong, and openly address ways you can fix the problem. Nobody is perfect, and a leader who never admits fault can potentially alienate those around them if they cannot admit to their own shortcomings.
