You don’t need to copy what big companies are doing. You don’t need expensive gear or a custom-built app to use AR in a way that works for you. What you need is to think creatively about how to visually enhance the experience of your product or service. For some, that could be as simple as a QR code that opens a virtual demo. For others, it might mean showing customers how a hairstyle or piece of clothing would look on them using their own phone camera. AR is flexible and in African markets where our resources may be limited, flexibility is a gift. We are not looking to be perfect, we are just participating however we can to keep up.
When budgets are tight, AR becomes even more valuable - not less. You can use it to simulate experiences, avoid the cost of full physical setups, or engage audiences remotely. Instead of building a showroom, build a virtual tour. Instead of printing brochures, give them a way to see the product in their space. It’s all about impact, not scale.
