Section 3 : Generic slides kill interest

We have all seen them before. “The African market is worth $2.3 trillion.” “There are 400 million people with mobile phones.” “Our solution is scalable, disruptive and first of its kind.” These are the slides that go in because they sound good, but they don’t say much. They add length and nothing of value to whoever is looking at them. And the person reading your deck has probably seen the exact same line in five other decks this week alone.

This doesn’t mean you should remove every big stat or strong statement. But you need to tie it back to your business. Don’t throw numbers around just because they look good. Make them specific. Explain what they mean for you. Context is what gives your claims power. Without it, they’re just words people forget as soon as they move to the next slide.
