You’re still using ‘bootstrapping’ as an excuse

Section 3 : Fear looks responsible when dressed up as strategy

75%

Caution is sometimes framed as wisdom and in many cases, it is. But not always. Sometimes you’re not being strategic. You’re just scared of failing publicly. Scared of getting it wrong. Scared of spending money and not seeing the return. So you keep it small and manageable. You make sure nothing breaks, but also nothing really builds. You stay “bare-bones” for the longest time, because the moment you stop calling it that, you have to admit you’re actually stuck.

The longer you stay stuck, the harder it becomes to move. What began as a practical phase quietly becomes your default. You completely stop taking risks because you’ve built comfort around playing safe. At some point, it’s no longer a strategy. It’s self-preservation disguised as a business plan.
