There are dozens of social media platforms available to marketers today, but you shouldn’t try to build a presence on all of them. Not only would the time requirements outsize the benefits, but your target audiences also aren’t necessarily on them all.

Instead, determine the top three to five networks that your target demographics use, and focus on those. In most cases, Facebook is a given. The rest of the mix is up to you.

Consider your product or services in your decision, too. If your business is particularly visual, then Instagram is likely a good choice. If video is an integral part of what you do, then a YouTube channel may be a strong addition.
