Generative AI for business growth

Section 5 : Set rules for quality and limits

100%

One risk with generative AI is that people can become too reliant on it and stop checking the quality of what it produces. Don’t fall into that trap. If AI is helping you with something like delivery schedules, lead times or bookings, you still need to make sure the information is accurate and up to date. If it’s helping you analyse something, you still need to check if the interpretation makes sense for your business context.

Trust is built on consistency and accuracy. AI can help you scale, but only if you stay in control of the output. Create internal rules like: nothing gets posted without a human review, or always personalise responses before sending them out. The tool is only as useful as your judgment. AI can do a lot and that’s why your team needs to be clear on where the line is. Set boundaries for how it should be used. If there are tasks you don’t want it used for, or ways you don’t want it applied, then say so. You don’t want to deal with mistakes or customer complaints simply because no one was sure what the rules were.
