Outsourcing doesn’t outsource accountability

Section 3 : Silence does not mean it’s sorted

60%

When something is outsourced and quiet, it is easier on us to believe it is going well. Quiet does not always mean functional. It might mean unresolved. It might mean ignored. And by the time the silence breaks, the problem has already grown.

Check-ins are not about control. They are about clarity. A short message, a quick review, a pulse check, these are the things that keep outsourced work from drifting too far off track. Because if the only time you hear from someone is when there is a problem, you are already behind.

It does not have to be constant. It just has to be consistent. The habit of staying close, even lightly, creates accountability on both sides. It signals that the work matters. That the outcome is still being held with care. That silence is not being mistaken for success.
